Anniversary of the Boston Bombing and Jackie Robinson day

Today is a day of remembering in our society. This is the anniversary of that tragic event of the Boston bombing. Sadly our country has gone through many trials 9/11 shootings and the Boston bombing. Although these events can be tough to remember we must remember so we will not repeat the past. This is a very trying time for the families of those who died and the victims of the bombing. We need to pray that God can give them peace. We must remember the terrible events, but always look ahead to the future.

Jackie Robinson was the first African-American Baseball player. He was faced by much adversity. Some of his team mates refused to play with him and left the team, since he was African-American. He combated racism. But he never struck out in violence no matter what was done to him. He showed great self-control. Self-control will take you far.

Proverbs 25:28

New Living Translation (NLT)
28 A person without self-control
is like a city with broken-down walls

If he did not have self-control he probably wouldn't have gone so far in baseball.
Remember: Self-control will take you far.
Remember sad events as not to repeat history.
