Asian-American heritage month



Michelle KwanMichelle Kwan is a wonderful figure skater. Kwan is two time medalist.  She was born July 7, 1980 in Torrance, California to Hong Kong immigrants. She began to skate when she was 5. A year later she entered her first figure skating competition. She won.  At the age of 13, she finished 8th at the World Championship. She earned a spot as an alternative in the Olympics. In the 1998 Olympics Michelle won a silver medal, although she was hoping to win a gold medal. After her ice-skating career she went back to college to become a diplomat.  She was also a t.v. correspondent for 2010 winter Olympics. Currently, she work for the U.S. bureau of education and cultural affairs.
